Week 12 Preview

by Big Al

With Thanksgiving so early this year, we find ourselves in Rivalry Week Eve already. Otherwise known as the SEC-FCS bye week. So let's look at some interesting games.

Cincinnati at UCF

UCF has a challenge on their way to an undefeated season with a game against 9-1 Cincinnati. Won't be a problem. UCF wins.

Syracuse at Notre Dame

Unless Notre Dame loses its next two games, they are in the playoffs. They will be in the playoffs after this game.

Iowa State at Texas

Texas keeps disappointing me. I think that they are back on their way, and then they drop another game. I'll go with them to pull off a win against an Iowa State team that just won't go away.

West Virginia at Oklahoma State

West Virginia and Oklahoma are facing their last games before the West Virginia-Oklahoma back-to-back, round-robin tournament. West Virginia takes care of the last issue this week.

Ohio State at Maryland

Now Urban Meyer is accused of covering up a racial slur by Zach Smith. I'm a little hazy on the reasons this is national news about Urban Meyer, except that what's-his-face is just doing everything possible to make Urban Meyer look bad. Either way, the distractions keep piling up. Not good when they are playing a team with a good offense and a quarterback they are not familiar with. Maryland pulls off the upset.

Miami at Virginia Tech

Quietly, there is a substantial rivalry game going on this weekend in Blacksburg. Look for Virginia Tech to hold serve at home.

With Notre Dame consuming USC's rivalry week spot next weekend, USC will have its annual cross-town rivalry game against UCLA. And USC will win again.

Playoff Recap and Championship Preview

The boring year continues.

Bowl Preview 2

The bowl picks keep rolling in! Here are the rest of them.

Bowl Preview 1

Bowl games! You know, those games where teams get to go play a sport for fun. Doesn't really fit in with the modern sensibilities, I know. Anyway, here's the first batch of games.

Week 14 Recap

A fundamentally boring week of conference championships. Explain that to me.

Week 14 Preview

Championship weekend. I'm still not a fan: too many opportunities for teams to drop games that can mess up their seasons.

Week 13 Recap

Rivarly week didn't provide too many surprises, but there were enough that's the week is worth talking about.

Week 13 Preview

It's rivalry week! But it's an amazingly uninteresting rivalry week. I seriously can't believe how uninteresting this weekend is. It's rivalry week, and the games aren't interesting. What the heck?
